Spring, Magnolia Trees and Anti-Coagulation

I've been noticing that around here the Magnolia trees are just starting to show signs of blossoming. They're a favorite of mine.

It turns out that Magnolia trees aren't just beautiful, they may make anti-coag therapy safer.
A new drug derived from magnolia trees appears to be able to uncouple two important functions of thrombin in blood clot formation and may offer a way to better control the potentially dangerous complications of bleeding and clot formation during procedures to open blocked coronary arteries, say researchers at the Duke Clinical Research Institute.
Anti-coagulation complications have killed many people over the years. It'd be great if the Magnolia not only signaled the arrival of spring, but also saved lives.
